Count down to the big day!!!

With Prince William and Kate Middleton set to say their 'I do's' this Friday, Britain is engaged in final preparations to make the event perfect and Anna McDonald Bridal Gallery, one of the leading bridal shops in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire will be dressing her window to help celebrate. I have my bunting and colour scheme all ready now so now my window looks fab and so the fun begins.

I am so excited to see what Kate will wear and its been the talk of the shop for weeks now. There are also lots of mums to be out there excited to see what the guests will wear too!

Every shop in the world will end up having a Kate Middleton Wedding dress and I bet the designers have their pencils at the ready to re-create the “look”.

Yes I am sure I will have a similar style in my shop in the next few months – who wouldn't?

Have fun x

The Friends of Thame & District Citizens Advice Bureau held a Fashion Show at The Spread Eagle Hotel on Thursday 14 April, to support the work of the bureau; this currently has to raise £70,000 running costs p.a. The CAB is staffed by trained volunteers under the guidance of a manager and session supervisor. Advisers draw on a 12,000 page information system that enables them to help with any type of problem. The service is free, client orientated and totally confidential.

The organizers of the Fashion Show are grateful to Amanda Binnie of the Events Team at The Spread Eagle Hotel for use of the Eden Suite and advance preparations and to Don Butler who kindly stepped in at very short notice to compère the show. Womens’ fashions for every age and shape were shown by CC (Country Casuals), freerange, Muse, Ricochet and Togs4U with the Anna McDonald Bridal Gallery ending the show with a stunning display of bridal gowns. The show was supported by Brothers, House of Colour, Tina Hadley, Thimbelina, Creative DeZigns Ltd and Julie Anne’s Shoes. Several local businesses generously donated prizes for the raffle which was drawn by the Mayoress of Thame, Sinead Buckland. The Fashion Show raised over £1000 for the CAB; the Friends would like to take this opportunity to thank all the businesses, models and helpers who took part in the event and the people of Thame for their support.

To all the girls in the world – have you heard about Boudoir?

This is something you all have to experience – I (Anna McDonald) had my first Boudoir shoot a few weeks ago and it was the best thing I have done in a long time – when they say life begins at 40 or 42ish it really does. My lovely photographer Kate Hopewell-Smith who specialises in wedding, portrait and family photography has been doing Boudoir for a few years now and oh my god she really knows how to make you feel like a women.

I went shopping for the most fabulous underwear I could find (some from Trish who owns Elegance in Thame, Oxfordshire) - with feather stoles, high heels, and the most amazing costume jewellery we had a field day. I had my hair and make-up done by the lovely and creative Cat Fransham who I recommend highly to all my brides

I was set to go, Kate had me lying on fur rugs, stretched across her chaise longue in positions quite unimaginable, boy I ached the next day. I have only one picture to show you the others are for my husbands eyes only. To me this is the best present you could give your boyfriend, fiancé or husband and something that you will treasure forever.
I have got an album in the shop of some pictures that Kate has put together showing boudoir or you can have a look on her website www.katehopewellsmith.com.

More and more brides from Anna McDonald Bridal Gallery are having Boudoir - enjoy xx
